Tips & Tricks (5)

  • Spice Bloom Magic 🌶️
Toast the dry spices (cumin, paprika, oregano) in the olive oil for 30-45 seconds before adding meat to unlock deeper, more complex flavor profiles.
  • Bean Moisture Mastery 💧
Drain and lightly pat the black beans before adding to prevent excess moisture from making your enchilada filling soggy.
  • Cheese Layering Technique 🧀
Reserve some grated cheese to sprinkle between layers and on top for a more even, golden-brown melted cheese coverage.
  • Tortilla Warming Hack 🔥
Warm tortillas briefly in a dry skillet before filling to prevent cracking and improve pliability.
  • Sauce Consistency Control 🥄
Whisk the flour into the stock slowly and continuously to prevent lumps, creating a smooth, velvety enchilada sauce.
