- 1 ½ cup - 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon - 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon - 1/2 teaspoon salt
- ¾ cup - 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- ½ cup - 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¼ cup - 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 - 2 large eggs
- 3 - 3 ripe bananas, mashed (about 1 cup)
- ½ cup - 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 ½ cup - 1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chunks, divided
- ¾ cup - 3/4 cup chopped toasted walnuts, divided
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 10x15x1-inch baking pan.
- Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl; set aside.
- Beat brown sugar, butter, and granulated sugar in a large bowl with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
- Add eggs 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in mashed bananas, sour cream, and vanilla until well combined.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the batter, stirring just until combined.
- Fold in 1 1/4 cups chocolate chunks and 1/2 cup chopped walnuts.
- Spread batter evenly into the prepared pan.
- Top with the remaining 1/4 cup chocolate chunks and 1/4 cup chopped walnuts.
- Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, 20 to 25 minutes.
- Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack, about 30 minutes. Cut into 24 bars.
