Ingredients
- 2 cup - 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon - 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
- 1 Tablespoon - 1 Tablespoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon - 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon - 1/2 teaspoon cayenne, or to taste
- ½ teaspoon - 1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic
- 1 - 1 large egg
- 1 cup - 1 cup milk, whole or 2% butterfat
- 4 Tablespoons - 4 Tablespoons melted unsalted butter
- 1 ½ cup - 1 1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese
- ¾ cup - 3/4 cup diced deli ham
- ¾ cup - 3/4 cup pimiento-stuffed green olives, rinsed and drained
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C). Grease an 8 1/2 x 4 1/2-inch loaf pan, and set aside.
- Add flour, sugar, baking powder, kosher salt, cayenne, and granulated garlic to a large mixing bowl, and stir to combine.
- In a separate bowl, combine egg and milk, and slowly drizzle in melted butter. Add egg mixture to flour mixture, and stir until dry ingredients are just moistened.
- Stir in Cheddar cheese and deli ham, and fold in olives. Batter will be stiff; do not overmix. Pour into the prepared pan.
- Bake in the center of the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, 35 to 40 minutes.
- Cool in the pan about 10 minutes, remove from the pan and cool on a rack, about 10 minutes more. Using a serrated knife, cut into slices and serve warm, or at room temperature.
