Instructions
1
|
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C). Grease an 8 1/2 x 4 1/2-inch loaf pan, and set aside.
2
|
Add flour, sugar, baking powder, kosher salt, cayenne, and granulated garlic to a large mixing bowl, and stir to combine.
3
|
In a separate bowl, combine egg and milk, and slowly drizzle in melted butter. Add egg mixture to flour mixture, and stir until dry ingredients are just moistened.
4
|
Stir in Cheddar cheese and deli ham, and fold in olives. Batter will be stiff; do not overmix. Pour into the prepared pan.
5
|
Bake in the center of the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, 35 to 40 minutes.
6
|
Cool in the pan about 10 minutes, remove from the pan and cool on a rack, about 10 minutes more. Using a serrated knife, cut into slices and serve warm, or at room temperature.

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Olive Precision 🫒Rinse and thoroughly pat dry the pimiento-stuffed olives to prevent excess moisture from making the bread soggy and ensure even distribution.
- Cheese Coating Technique 🧀Toss the grated cheddar cheese with a tablespoon of flour before mixing into the batter to prevent sinking and create a more even cheese distribution.
- Buttermilk Substitute Hack 🥛If you don't have milk, create a quick buttermilk by adding 1 tablespoon of white vinegar or lemon juice to the milk and letting it sit for 5 minutes to enhance the bread's tenderness.
- Spice Balance Master 🌶️Adjust the cayenne carefully - start with 1/4 teaspoon and taste the batter to ensure the heat complements rather than overwhelms the ham and cheese flavors.
- Golden Crust Secret 🥖Brush the top of the bread with an extra tablespoon of melted butter before baking to achieve a rich, golden-brown crust with a beautiful sheen.
